For opening boxes and sealed cartons, the shears have an integrated box cutter in the top of the handle, keeping bits of sticky tape off the main scissor blades.

The Zyliss Gourmet Shears are an easy to use design, with a spring-assisted handle that opens the scissors up after each squeeze to prevent fatigue. For cutting through chicken bones, the notched blade provides extra cutting force, and the two blades come apart for easy cleaning. To keep them safely closed in the drawer, the Zyliss Shears feature a handle lock.
