Cleaning and Care
While the Jamie Oliver Tefal Stainless Steel with Copper range is designed for durability, there are some simple steps for maintaining your cookware so that it will best serve you in the years to come.
Prior to first use, Jamie Oliver Tefal Stainless Steel with Copper pans will benefit from a seasoning. Wash in hot soapy water, towel dry, and rub in half a teaspoon of vegetable oil. This will keep the non-stick surface performing to its best.
Make sure to thoroughly clean your Jamie Oliver Tefal Stainless Steel pans after every use. If not cleaned correctly, a thin layer of food particles and grease can build up on the non-stick surface, which will carbonise when next heated and reduce the performance of the Prometal Pro non-stick surface. Do not use abrasive detergents or metal scourers to clean the non-stick surface.
Only use Jamie Oliver cookware on a low to medium heat. Because of the very efficient heat conductivity of the bonded aluminium and copper base, high heat will burn food and can affect the non-stick performance of the Prometal Pro surface.
Copper will tarnish with use. To restore its natural shine, use a commercial copper cleaning agent or lemon halves dipped in salt.
It is recommended that Jamie Oliver cookware is towel dried after use. Drying in air can cause spots to form on the polished stainless steel surface.
